-The L form of Phenylalanine helps support the normal production of mood-
elevating chemicals in the brain such as dopamine and norepinephrine. The D
form supports the normal blocking of a nervous system enzyme that amplifies
pain signals. The combination of the two forms may help support normal mood and
address physical discomforts. It should not be used with MAO inhibitors or
tricyclic antidepressants, or by patients who have PKU or hypertension.*
